1956 - 2010

Over 50 years of history.
That of Roncato S.r.l., family conducted business, producer of travel articles, is undoubtedly an important anniversary that has seen three generations at the helm of a dynamic, young and innovative firm currently trading as CIAK ciakroncato.com.
With strong links to their origins in the hard-working and generous north-east part of the country, often the engine of the country’s economy, they look at the world with the certainty and calmness of one who has a clear knowledge of his ability.
The common thread in these fifty years of Roncato S.r.l.’s history lies in the wisdom that distinguished each strategic choice and decision of the company that was founded back in 1956, when Italy was entering a period of transformation and taking big steps towards an economic boom. The country looked forward to constructing its future with great enthusiasm.
It was then that Antonio Roncato from Campodarsego in the province of Padova, showed great intuition. In a speeding world, that was moving more rapidly there would always be need for logistic support for travel.
Antonio Roncato began to manufacture fibre trunks and suitcases and founded the “Roncato Antonio Baulificio”.
The young and dynamic company was successful on the domestic market thanks to modernisation and applying technology to products. The early wooden trunks were updated with new materials: aluminium, fabrics, sky, ecc...
Even commerce intensified with the company targeting public organisations for which they became official suppliers, and beginning to trade on foreign markets thanks to participating in specialised fairs.
With the coming of the Eighties, the company expanded further. The image of the company from Campodarsego began to enter all Italian homes through the television proposing their aluminium suitcases with rubber corners. The “Ciak 101” was a success.
The turning point came in 1995 when Carlo Roncato, son of founder Antonio, and his wife Marisa Bano, current owners of Roncato S.r.l., create the brand CIAK ciakroncato.com.
A new product, the “ROYAL” suitcase in thermo-formed ABS, joined the rigid and soft cases, still proposed today for travel and for professional purposes. In the field of suitcases it represents a revolution: the innovative design is characterised by a rounded shape, elegant vertical lines on the bodywork and a central handle in anodised aluminium.
This production success was followed by more and equally significant ones. However, Carlo and Marisa always looked forward and thought of the future by favouring the entry in the company of their daughters, Fabiana, responsible for product with her husband Simone Patron - sales manager - Francesca, responsible for administration and Federica responsible for international sales and communication.
In 2002 they also achieved the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certification, a seal of quality for the Padova Company’s product.
